I am proud to be a Judge at the first major kettlebell competition using fixometer. Here are my thoughts.
Having judged in the past, the Node-Fixometer device makes judging more fair and square. You get the green light or you don't simple as that.
Judging is not that fun. I've said that in the past, you have to focus entirely on one athlete and so cannot see much of the competition. It's sometimes a thankless job, but there are those of you who did thank me for judging their sets and those who did not.
I saw a few of you cuss when you put up those first few reps and dropped out of the overhead quickly without a green light, causing me not to count your rep. This must be from your training, self judging. Maybe you are used to that rhythm as some of you told me. In any case, you should not say fuck or shit on the platform and a couple of you I judged did just that!
One person I judged did not pay good attention to me whether they were getting a green light or not, so they got a lot of "no counts". Instead they were focused on a certain pace and point behind me and not even paying attention to me.
I apologize again to Tadja Sobocan for my mistake. She would have scored maybe 15 to 20 points higher on Jerk during Pentathlon. You are a very strong girl Tadja!
Those who have spent some time training with the fixometer, such as Michael Cricks, it really shows! All of his reps overhead look very professional!
Those who have trouble getting green lights later on in your sets. You need some good coaching. In most of those cases I can see that your wrists are not open and you cannot relax overhead. This really takes a toll on you as the time goes by.
In closing. The Node-Fixometer is a great addition to our sport. You really should consider adding it to your training. It's not an expensive tool at all and it will make your reps look professional.
This is kettlebell sport as it should be !
